What Is Reiki?

Check out my special offer for Spring!

Reiki is a gentle healing system that channels life-force energy ... the very energy that moves through and animates every living thing. This type of energy healing is very ancient and yet modern at the same time. It's now being used in many hospitals and other health care agencies.

Reiki has traditionally been used on people but in recent years this gentle healing energy has also been shown to be extremely beneficial to animals ... not just our pets and companion animals, but wild animals as well.  Depending on what level of Reiki training the practitioner has, he or she may not even need to physically touch the animal to provide a Reiki treatment, reducing stress on an animal that may already be stressed from an injury or illness.

Animals tend to LOVE Reiki ... many animals are highly sensitive to energy and will respond positively to a Reiki treatment.  Even insects can sense this healing energy ... I've had butterflies and dragonflies land on me and stay for minutes at a time while I sat outside sending Reiki to them.

Reiki helps the physical body ... healing on many levels and helping the animal to calmness and a state of relaxation.  It opens and clears the energy centers of the body known as the Chakras (which animals also have).  It can allow an injured or panicked animal to relax enough to be touched and can even ease the transition, for the animal as well as the humans involved, as the animal crosses over.

Reiki is also extremely beneficial for the emotional and mental health of animals as well.  For animals that have been abused, neglected, or lost, Reiki can ease their emotional distress and distrust. It can help them to accept and welcome a new home. In the case of a pet that is upset at the introduction of a new animal or baby into the home, Reiki can help to calm them and allow them to be more welcoming ... and maybe less destructive.

Reiki can do no harm and is non-invasive.  It always goes only where it's needed and will help to balance the animal's entire being ... emotional, physical, behavioral and even spiritual.
